Language Interpretation Isn’t Just Repeating Words in Another Language

Trust a Professional Interpreter to Convey Even the Unspoken Aspects of Language.

To truly speak and understand a language, one must capture more than just the words in a sentence. A large percentage of verbal communication has to do with tone of voice, attitude, and other vocal components. Rely on a professional interpreter to convey every detail of your conversations so that no information—spoken or unspoken—falls through the cracks.

When your company requires interpreter services, IVANNOVATION can help ensure that your business interactions go off without a hitch, regardless of whether they are in-person or remote. Our professional interpreters will come prepared with background knowledge of your business as well as a working understanding of your industry, so that they are prepared to capture both big ideas and the context behind them.

IVANNOVATION Can Provide Professional Interpreters to Meet Your Unique Needs

From One-on-one Interactions to Large Gatherings

IVANNOVATION’s team is made up of both consecutive interpreters and simultaneous interpreters. Consecutive interpretation is when the interpreter and the source language speaker speak by turns, alternating language by language. This type of interpretation is common for meetings between two individuals such as medical interpretation at a doctor’s office. It is also common for small business meetings between delegations from different countries.

Simultaneous interpretation, on the other hand, is when the interpreter speaks at the same time as the source language speaker. This is an especially difficult form of interpretation requiring the most experienced linguists. It is typically used in large meetings or conferences. The interpreter typically sits in a booth, listens to the speaker, and interprets into a microphone. Audience members can hear the interpretation via a personal headset.

There’s no one-size-fits-all type of interpretation. IVANNOVATION’s skilled team is prepared to handle even the most difficult nuances of language interpretation.

FAQs

What types of interpretation do you offer (consecutive, simultaneous, etc.)?

We provide professional consecutive interpretation services.

Consecutive interpretation involves the interpreter waiting until the speaker has completed their thought or sentence before communicating it in the target language. This allows for a smooth flow of communication in settings like business meetings, negotiations, legal proceedings, and more.

The other main type is simultaneous interpretation, in which the interpreter communicates the speaker’s message into the target language in real-time as it is being spoken. This requires specialized equipment and is commonly used for large conferences, where participants listen to the interpretation using earpieces.

IVANNOVATION focuses on providing high-quality consecutive interpretation services.

What is the difference between interpretation and translation?

Interpretation refers to conveying spoken or signed language from one language into another language in real-time. The interpreter listens to the source language and renders it orally into the target language as the message is being spoken.

Translation, on the other hand, involves converting written text from one language into another.

In short, interpretation deals with spoken or signed communication, while translation deals with written texts.

What subject matter/topics are your interpreters experienced with interpreting? What industries do you specialize in?

Our interpreters have extensive experience across a wide range of subject matters and industries. We carefully select interpreters who have knowledge of specialized terminology for the relevant topic.

Some key areas of expertise for our interpreters include:
– Business/Finance
– Legal/Courtroom proceedings
– Healthcare/Medical
– Technical/Manufacturing
– And others.

When booking an interpreter, we discuss your subject matter needs with you in detail. This allows us to match you with an interpreter who has direct experience interpreting that content area. Many of our interpreters also hold certifications or accreditations related to their areas of specialization.

Do you provide interpretation services on-site or remotely?

IVANNOVATION can provide both. It’s best if an interpreter can be on-site for interpretation services, but depending on your location and your language pair, there may not be an interpreter within a convenient travel distance. For example, there may not be any Korean-Wolof language interpreters specializing in engineering in the greater Topeka area! In such cases, we can provide services from a qualified interpreter remotely.

How are your interpreters trained/qualified? What certifications do they hold?

Our interpreters hold certifications from the American Translators Association (ATA) or equivalent certifications from their home countries. They also commonly possess advanced degrees in the language they work with or in interpretation and translation studies.

How much does interpretation cost per hour? Is there a minimum number of hours required?

The cost for interpretation services depends on what languages and what industry specializations are required. Describe your interpretation needs, and we will give you a quote for that particular service.

The minimum amount of time charged for interpretation services is two hours. For example, if the actual interpretation time is an hour and fifteen minutes, the charge will be for two hours. If the interpretation time is three hours, then the charge will be for three hours.

If the interpreter needs to travel long distances or stay in a hotel in order to provide interpretation, then those costs will be included as well.

Can we meet the interpreters in advance to brief them on the discussion topic?

Sure! After the job is confirmed, you can discuss the meeting or event with the interpreter in order to prepare him or her for the terminology and topics required for the service.

How far in advance do we need to book interpretation services?

The earlier the better. That gives us time to coordinate schedules and make sure someone is available. Ideally, book your interpretation services at least two or more weeks in advance.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel up to 24 hours ahead of the scheduled time of interpretation services. Cancelling within 24 hours ahead will incur charges. If travel costs are involved and if tickets have already been purchased, then the customer will be responsible for those costs.

Do you sign non-disclosure agreements to protect privacy?

Absolutely! We will sign your NDA before receiving any privileged information for providing interpretation services.
